An Introduction to Wine School
Hello, I'm Rich Young, President and Founder of Young Equipment Sales. One of my favorite hobbies is learning about wine. I read a great article titled "To Study Wine, Buy and Drink" in the New York Times the week of April 9th, in which columnist Eric Asimov suggested that people learn about wine by drinking wine at home. I thought "Wow, I am ahead of the curve!" My son, Jake is a Sommelier (a wine connoisseur), and I have been giving him my credit card and letting him select a mixed case of wine for me to sample at home. We use the same rule as in Eric Asimov's article, keeping the average price per bottle at $20.00. What a great way to learn about wine! I will post a link to the New York Times article and a list of the wines that Jake selects for me every month. Follow our list or the Times list, and have some fun learning about wine. Both Eric and Jake have a blog, so you can ask them questions as you plow through this tough assignment. Jake gave me a magnet years ago that says "Life's too short to drink bad wine". Enjoy! |
