The Necessity for a New Floor Glide!

VCT Flooring is the new standard for schools, but all classroom furniture has been manufactured using glides that were designed to work on hard, asbestos containing floor tiles. Some facts about current VCT flooring include:

  1. VCT Asbestos-free tile is softer and it is harder to maintain a hard durable finish.
  2. Although VCT flooring is relatively inexpensive it is one of the largest expenditures in new or newly renovated buildings due to the abrasive nature of standard industry glides.
  3. VCT flooring is sensitive to dirt and grit interaction with loose furnishings and requires intensive high quality maintenance procedures to sustain a protective finish.
The bottom line is that current industry glides do not work with VCT floors and schools have been paying the price, but there is an answer to this problem!

The Capitol Express Non-marring VCT Floor Glide is the solution!

The new base material of the Capitol ExpressTM glide is harder than nylon to prevent debris from becoming imbedded into the glide. This allows the glide to roll over any debris that might exist when a chair is initially set in place without retaining the dirt and grit.

The new design for the Capitol ExpressTM Glide functions the same way locomotive cow-catchers function to clear train tracks of debris. The inside of the glide has the reverse profile and a collection void to double the clearing action in every direction. This allows the cow-catcher design to begin protecting the floor the first time the chair is moved.

Detailed testing and back up information is available upon your request.

The Capitol ExpressTM non-marring VCT Floor Glide is available as standard equipment on all new Capital Seating furniture purchases and also as a replacement floor glide for any manufacturer of classroom furniture.
